On August 9, 2024 the DDCA held a National Forum to generate discussion on the shape of the future of creative practice research in Australia, and beyond.
The topics for this forum were chosen to speak directly to recent Australian government reviews of the reporting, assessment and evaluation processes and frameworks of university research. The Pre-forum Material provides a summary of the context for the discussion.
The structure for the forum was that: five speakers spoke for five minutes each on a key consideration in regard to the aspirations for a new, more equitable framework for reporting and assessing research. Attendees were then invited to respond to the provocations, questions and propositions brought to them by the five speakers.
Following the forum, DDCA’s online publication Creative Matters will be issuing a special edition that invites you to submit a short contribution on one of the five key topics covered:
1 Creative Practice Research + university cultures
2 Parity in ERA submissions across universities
3 Reviewer training + guidelines
4 Research / industry success
5 World standards
