In a sea of STEM focused proposals, the University of Newcastle has secured funding from the 2016 Higher Education Participation and Partnerships Programme for an initiative focused on creative industries. The project: Creative Industries Careers: Re-imagining Regional and Remote Students’ opportunities, will present students , families, careers advisors and teachers in regional and remote areas threatened by traditional industry decline, with an alternative career pathway in creative industries and, through a series of hands-on workshops, explore skills that are needed for these new career opportunities.
