After nearly a decade of planning, Princeton University is set to open its new Lewis Center for the Arts. The 22 acre site, designed by award winning Architect, Steven Holl, features a ‘village like cluster of buildings and public spaces’ that bring together the university programs offered by the Lewis Center for the Arts and the Department of Music.
The complex includes 3 major performance venues and art galleries as well as multiple smaller theatre and dance studios, instrumental rehearsal rooms and practice rooms.
The site will also connect with the university’s transit centre and provide bars cafes and a convenience store. It was funded, in part, by a philanthropic gift ofUS $101 million.
