Regional Arts Engagement dashboard launched

The Australia Council has released a new searchable online dashboard which uses ABS data to show regional engagement with arts and comparison across various categories of arts venues and type by region. Perhaps more useful for those interested in historical data than as a guide to contemporary interests as it is based on ‘the most recent 2013-14 Local Regional Arts Engagement Data’. 

According to the Australia Council’s media release, the data shows that in 2013-14:

“ACT residents were by far the most engaged as audiences, with 91% attending arts or cultural venues or events, followed by Victoria at 86% and South Australia and Western Australia at 85%”

The dashboard will complement local government data and assist local cultural planning. The dashboard can be accessed at: http://www.australiacouncil.gov.au/research/current-projects/arts-and-cultural-attendance-and-participation-local-region-rates/
