UNSW’s Professor Jill Bennett has been awarded one of only 17 prestigious ARC Laureate Fellowships to undertake research and development in immersive visualisation technology. As the founding director of National Institute for Experimental Arts at the University of New South Wales (UNSW), Jill has written extensively on visual culture, contemporary art and new media, and curated numerous exhibitions. Her Laureate fellowship project, ‘Simulating subjective experience: a new paradigm in immersive visualisation’ aims to ‘advance societal understanding of the experience of ageing, and substantially develop our capacity to promote empathy and to remediate the problem of stigmatisation’.
