Edith Cowan University has won the bid to build a major creative campus in the heart of the city, linking the business area of Perth to the cultural district of Northbridge. The new $695m building will be built in Yagan Square as part of the city link project and is due for completion in early 2025.
The Creative Industries, Business and Technology campus will be home to the visual and performing arts, communications, design, film and media (Arts & Humanities) in conjunction with the West Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA), the School of Business & Law, Cyber Security (School of Science) and Kurongkurl Katitjin (Indigenous Studies). The campus will initially support 9000 students and will offer state of the art facilities in teaching and research.
This transformational project is the centrepiece of a Perth City Deal, joint funded by ECU, The West Australian State Government and the Federal Government. Through this exciting project the arts will play a central role in rejuvenating the city of Perth and through significant cultural engagement with our communities and industries.
