ACUADS History And Visual Arts Examiner Database Announced

The end of year report released by the Australian Council of University Art and Design Schools (ACUADS) includes details of two particular projects that may be of interest to the broad creative arts community . . .

As well as reporting on its grant and award winners, and other activities undertaken in 2016, the end of year report released by the Australian Council of University Art and Design Schools (ACUADS) includes details of two particular projects that may be of interest to the broad creative arts community:

Writing our History

Earlier this year, Ex-Chair and ongoing Public Officer for ACUADS, Emeritus Professor David Williams AM, completed the commendable task of penning ACUADS’ history. Williams’ history unveils ACUADS’ formation story and tracks the organisation’s key activities and developments, drawing attention to international connections, a six-year co-operative project with The Australian, and the introduction of ACUADS’ research and teaching awards. The History, with timeline, photographs and further recommended reading is available on our website: http://acuads.com.au/about/history/

Examiner Database

In response to discussions around examination at the 2015 ACUADS Conference, we developed a Research Examination Database. This online tool welcomes art and design staff to add themselves to the database. In turn, art and design staff and students can use the database to find examiners according to area of expertise, research specialisation, experience and availability.
