The British Council’s art strategy for 2016-2021 focuses strongly upon international connections, collaborations and global partnerships in an ambition to position ‘the UK as a global hub for collaboration, capacity building and policy development’ and double its international activity in the next five years.
Announcing a $30 Million Cultural Protection Fund which opened for applications in June, the British Council’s core programs centre on: Arts for Social Change; Sharing Arts with the World; capacity building; fostering collaboration and networks; and policy and research.
The Strategy was released in May and given the inclusion of EU collaboration and funding that is highlighted in the Council’s associated corporate plan for 2016-20, it is presumed that the British Council may be one of those agencies who will be revisiting their plans in the near future
