This symposium will explore the effect of Higher Degree Research on the music industry, and the impact it has on informing professional practice. Authors are invited to share their current work in order to address the following suggested themes: Music research and its impacts on music-making; Research as exhibition /performance /composition; What is a ‘research output’?; Narratives of methodologies and practices; What is the contemporary ‘music industry’?;Communities of research, communities of practice.
Keynote speakers include: Dr Kathryn Cok (Royal Conservatoire in The Hague, Holland) and Prof Jane Davidson (University of Melbourne, Australia)
