ANU announces Ken Lampl as Music School Director

The waiting is over for musicians at ANU’s School of Music. After a protracted recruitment process and turbulent period of soul searching , Professor Ken Lampl, composer and former Julliard New York faculty member, has been announced as the new Director. Jazz performer Professor Lampl  joined ANU in mid 2016 as Professor of Composition bringing an established reputation in film score composition and a decade of experience as Director of the Music Business and Technology Program at Hofstra University in New York. He will take over as Director in March with the task of implementing the recommendations of the Podger Report and re-building ANU Music School as ‘the premiere school for 21st century musical training’. Malcolm Gillies who held the post of interim head during the school’s transition period, will continue as mentor.
