Opera workshops with ex-ROH Covent Garden Resident Staff Director Andrew Sinclair

Event date: 14, 15 & 19 March
Event location: Rehearsal Studio, Athenaeum Theatre, Melbourne

Internationally-acclaimed opera stage director Andrew Sinclair is in Melbourne presenting his ‘Reading the Score’ workshops on 14, 15 & 19 March at the Athenaeum Theatre Rehearsal Studio.

Andrew has over 30 years’ experience in major opera houses in Europe, North America and Australia, including ROH Covent Garden, New York City Opera, Lyric Opera of Chicago, San Francisco Opera, Seattle Opera, Washington National Opera, Opera de Montreal and Opera Australia.

‘Reading the Score’ is professional coaching for singers. It encourages singers to get inside their roles, and to discover what lies behind it in terms of drama. Whether it be interpretation of an aria, preparing for an audition, or developing a complete role, these sessions are designed to explore the operatic character working with text and music.

Coaching sessions are between 10.30am–5:30pm each day and are accompanied by Geoffrey Urquart.
