The annual conference Music and the Moving Image will explore the relationship between the entire universe of moving images (film, television, video games, iPhone, computer, and live performances) and that of music and sound through paper presentations.
This year’s conference will run for four days, from Thursday, May 24-Sunday, May 27, with sessions until Sunday evening. On Friday evening, May 25, at the Museum of Modern Art, there will be the first American screening of the MoMA restored Rosita (Lubitsch, 1923) with the reconstructed original score performed live by Cinemusica Viva. The conference will run prior to the NYU Film Scoring Workshop in Memory of Buddy Baker (May 29-June 9, 2018).
