The DDCA has submitted a formal response to the ARC’s recent call for feedback on the proposed ‘research insights capability’ approach. This response represents the views and experiences of the DDCA Board, in particular considering the position of creative practice research in Australia.
In addition to our response to the questions posed, we attached the ‘New Designs on Research Evaluation’ recommendations based on the work the DDCA has been developing together with the sector on the subject of evaluation, recources for which can be found on the DDCA website, see Toward a New Evaluation Framework.
This work calls for a revised and nuanced approach to valuing excellence (and in fact, eligibility) of creative practice research.
