Sydney Festival Artistic Director Wesley Enoch has officially launched the University of Sydney’s new Creativity in Research, Engaging the Arts, Transforming Education (CREATE) Centre. The Centre, which will emphasise the centrality of creativity and the arts to learning, includes partnerships with Sydney Theatre Company; Diversity Arts; Bell Shakespeare; WestWords, Sydney Opera House; the NSW Art Gallery, Museum of Contemporary Art; Milk Crate Theatre; Sydney Writer’s Festival; as well as collaboration with other universities nationally and internationally. Led by Professor Robyn Ewing and Professor Michael Anderson, from the Sydney School of Education and Social Work, the Centre aims to place creativity and quality arts experiences at the centre of education, whether in schools or other places of learning.

Former Museum of Applied Arts and Sciences (MAAS) Director Julie Banks has been appointed as Head of Strategic Collections at
