Richard Kurth joins Melbourne as new Conservatorium Director

Dr Richard Kurth, former Director of the University of British Columbia Music School, has been appointed as Director of Melbourne Conservatorium of Music. Dr Kurth, who has also worked at McGill University and the University of Western Ontario, acknowledged the contribution of his predecessor, Professor Gary McPherson who has held the position of Director since 2009: “We owe him enormous gratitude, and I personally look forward to working with Gary in the years ahead. He is an exceptional scholar, a generous colleague, and a truly inspiring role model.”
