The National Institute of Dramatic Arts turns 60 this year. Founded as Australia’s first professional theatre training school, it began teaching in 1959, graduating 23 Diploma in Acting students in 1960. Today NIDA has 200 full-time students, over 12,000 part-time and short-class students, and an impressive alumni line up which includes Cate Blanchett, Sarah Snook, Michael Wilkinson and Catherine Martin.
